Terms of Use
Last updated: January 26, 2026
1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
PlayID is a global Esports platform operated by Hopae Inc. (“PlayID,” “we,” or “us”). These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of the PlayID website and services (the “Service”), which let you discover Esports events and competitions worldwide, buy tickets, enter competitions, and attend with a verified identity. They apply to everyone who uses the Service — members and visitors alike, wherever you are located. Individual events and competitions may carry additional rules set by their organizers; those rules are shown before you buy or enter and form part of your agreement for that event.
2. Eligibility, minors, and parental consent
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and you may not use it if you are under 13. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use.
Some events and competitions set their own age requirements — for example, 18+ or 21+ events, or youth competitions (open to participants aged 13 and older) that require separate parent-or-guardian consent to take part. These requirements appear on the event page and are enforced through identity verification.
3. Your account and identity verification
You must give accurate information when you register and keep it current. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One verified person, one account. Every account is bound to a verified identity through our identity provider, Hopae Connect. Creating multiple accounts — or using someone else's — to get around purchase limits or eligibility rules is prohibited.
- Identity verification is required before you can buy tickets, and age verification is required for age-restricted events. How we handle verification data is described in our Privacy Policy.
- You may delete your account at any time in your account settings on the website (or by emailing esports@hopae.com), and we will act on your request promptly. Unused tickets are voided when your account closes, except that this does not affect any refund already due to you under Section 6.
4. Tickets and entry
A ticket is a revocable license to attend the specific event and ticket type you bought, subject to its per-person limit, the organizer's and venue's rules, and any age or eligibility requirements stated for the event.
- Tickets are bound to your verified identity and are non-transferable, except where a transfer is required by law. Reselling — or offering to resell — a PlayID ticket may result in the ticket being voided without refund.
- Each ticket admits one entry. Organizers and venues may also check a photo ID at the door.
- For age-restricted events, you must meet the stated age requirement and complete age verification before purchase.
5. Pricing and payment
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars, and the total you pay — including any mandatory fees — is shown before you buy; where we are required to collect tax, it is included in that price. Your bank or card issuer may apply its own charges, such as foreign-exchange fees. Paid orders are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, and PlayID does not store your card details. Free tickets are issued directly to your account.
6. Refunds and cancellations
Ticket sales are final, and refund eligibility is shown at checkout. If PlayID or an organizer cancels an event, or materially reschedules or relocates it, we will issue a full refund — ticket price, fees, and taxes — to your original payment method, with no request needed. Please allow up to 10 business days for us to issue the refund; your bank may take additional time to post it. Nothing in this Section limits any non-waivable rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of your place of residence.
7. Anti-scalping and acceptable use
Keeping tickets with real fans is at the heart of PlayID. You agree not to:
- use bots or other automated means to acquire tickets, or otherwise circumvent access controls or purchase limits (conduct that may also violate the U.S. Better Online Ticket Sales (BOTS) Act);
- circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, identity or age verification;
- resell or transfer tickets outside PlayID, except where required by law; or
- interfere with the Service, probe or breach its security, or misuse other users' information or infringe their rights.
8. Competitions and fair play
Some events on PlayID are competitions hosted by us or by partner organizers. Entering a competition may require additional information specified by the organizer, which is disclosed at registration.
Competitive integrity is non-negotiable. Cheating, match-fixing, account sharing, and the use of unauthorized programs are prohibited and may lead to disqualification, voided results, and restriction or termination of your account — in addition to any sanctions the organizer imposes.
9. Changes, suspension, and termination of the Service
We may add to or change the Service and will give notice of material changes. We may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, or where events beyond our reasonable control (such as natural disasters or infrastructure failure) make it unavailable. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate Section 7 or Section 8, or otherwise materially breach these Terms.
10. Intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, and content — belongs to Hopae Inc. or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Game titles, team names, and event marks belong to their respective owners; their appearance on PlayID does not imply endorsement.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties; this does not affect any rights you have under mandatory law where you live. Event lineups, schedules, and formats are set by organizers and may change; where an event is cancelled, rescheduled, or relocated, Section 6 governs your refund.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hopae Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or your attendance at an event, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose or US$100. Nothing in this Section limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or willful misconduct, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by law; some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this Section may not apply to you. Events are run by their organizers and venues, who are responsible for venue safety.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, U.S.A., without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. Nothing in this Section deprives you of the mandatory consumer protections of the law of the state or country where you live; you may bring qualifying claims in small claims court where you live, and if the law of your country of residence entitles you to bring proceedings in your local courts, that right is unaffected.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will give at least 7 days' advance notice on the Service. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. General
These Terms, together with any event-specific rules and our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Hopae Inc. regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements on that subject. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We will send any legal notices to the email associated with your account, and you may send notices to us at esports@hopae.com or the address in Section 15.
