Terms of Use

Last updated: June 10, 2026 · Supersedes the version dated November 21, 2024

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

PlayID is a global esports platform operated by Hopae Inc. (“PlayID,” “we,” “us”). The Service lets you discover esports events and competitions worldwide, purchase tickets, enter competitions, and attend with a verified identity. These Terms apply to everyone who uses the Service — members and visitors alike, wherever you are located. Individual events and competitions may carry additional rules from their organizers, which are shown before you buy or enter and form part of your agreement for that event.

2. Eligibility, minors, and parental consent

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and you may not use it if you are under 13. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may use PlayID only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the Service.

Some events and competitions set their own age requirements — for example 18+ or 21+ events, or youth competitions (open to participants 13 and older) that require separate parent-or-guardian consent for participation. Those requirements are shown on the event page and enforced through identity verification.

3. Your account and identity verification

You must provide accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity on your account.

  • One verified person, one account. Accounts are bound to a verified identity through our identity provider, Hopae Connect. Creating multiple accounts — or using another person's account — to bypass purchase limits or eligibility rules is prohibited.
  • Identity verification is required before purchasing tickets, and age verification is required for age-restricted events. How verification data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
  • You may close your account at any time by emailing esports@hopae.com, and we will process the request promptly. Unused tickets are voided when your account closes.

4. Tickets and entry

A ticket is a revocable license to attend the specific event and ticket type you purchased, subject to its per-person limit, the organizer's and venue's rules, and any age or eligibility requirements stated on the event.

  • Tickets are bound to your verified identity and are non-transferable, except where a transfer is required by applicable law. Reselling, or offering to resell, a PlayID ticket may result in the ticket being voided without refund.
  • Each ticket admits one entry. Organizers and venues may additionally check a photo ID at the door.
  • For age-restricted events, you must meet the stated age requirement and complete age verification before purchase.

5. Pricing and payment

Prices are shown in U.S. dollars and are all-in: applicable fees and taxes are included in the displayed price. Paid orders are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; PlayID does not store your card details. Free tickets are issued directly to your account.

6. Refunds and cancellations

Ticket sales are final, and refund eligibility is presented at checkout. If PlayID or an organizer cancels or materially relocates an event, we will issue a full refund — ticket price, fees, and taxes — to the original payment method, no request needed. Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to be issued; your bank may take additional time to post it. Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of your place of residence.

7. Anti-scalping and acceptable use

Keeping tickets with real fans is the core of PlayID. You agree not to:

  • use bots or other automated means to acquire tickets, or otherwise circumvent access controls or purchase limits (conduct that may also violate the U.S. Better Online Ticket Sales (BOTS) Act);
  • circumvent or attempt to circumvent identity or age verification;
  • resell or transfer tickets outside PlayID, except where required by law;
  • interfere with the Service, probe or breach its security, or misuse other users' information or infringe their rights.

8. Competitions and fair play

Some events on PlayID are competitions hosted by us or by partner organizers. Entering a competition may require additional information specified by the organizer, which is disclosed at registration.

Competitive integrity is non-negotiable: cheating, match-fixing, account sharing, and the use of unauthorized programs are prohibited and may result in disqualification, voided results, and restriction or termination of your account — in addition to any sanctions the organizer applies.

9. Changes, suspension, and termination of the Service

We may add to or change the Service and will give notice of material changes. We may temporarily suspend the Service for maintenance, or where events beyond our reasonable control (such as natural disasters or infrastructure failure) make it unavailable. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate Section 7 or 8, or otherwise materially breach these Terms.

10. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, and content — is owned by Hopae Inc. or its licensors, and we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Game titles, team names, and event marks belong to their respective owners; their appearance on PlayID does not imply endorsement.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties. Event lineups, schedules, and formats are set by organizers and may change; where an event is cancelled or materially relocated, Section 6 governs your refund.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hopae Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or attendance at an event, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose or US$100. Nothing in this section limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or willful misconduct, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by law — and some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Events are operated by their organizers and venues, who are responsible for venue safety.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, U.S.A., without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. Nothing in this section deprives you of mandatory consumer protections of the law of the state or country where you live, and you may bring qualifying claims in small claims court where you live.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give advance notice on the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
