PlayID's main reason for verifying identity is to stop scalping: every ticket is bound to a verified person, so bots and resellers can't hoard and flip inventory. We also confirm age for age-restricted events — all using as little information as possible.

Age-restricted events
Some events are 18+ or 21+ (for example, venues serving alcohol). For those, PlayID confirms a buyer meets the age requirement before issuing a ticket — without revealing their birthdate.

A single verification powers one-tap entry to every PlayID event afterward — no repeated forms, no document re-scans.
How verification works
Once, at sign-up or first purchase
Verification runs a single time through a trusted identity provider. After that, your verified status carries across events.
Minimal information
Verification confirms you are a real, unique person and, for age-restricted events, that you meet the age threshold (e.g. over 18 / over 21) — never your full birthdate. We do not collect or store copies of your ID documents.
You stay in control
You see and approve exactly what is shared before it is shared. PlayID stores a verified-status reference, not your underlying identity documents.
